Shape

Shapes can be added to a figure to highlight points or periods in time, thresholds, or areas of interest.

After selecting Annotate > Shapes click the +Shape button.

  • Show / Hide Shows or hides the shape

Only available when the Show button is active

  • Line / Rectangle / Ellipse

Determines the type of shape that is displayed in the trace

Horizontal Boundaries

Determine left and right end of the shape

Relative To

The reference of the coordinates for start and end point; can be canvas or earlier defined axis

Start Point

The left end of the chosen shape (for ellipse: the left side of the bounding box)

End Point

The right end of the chosen shape (for ellipse: the upper right side of the bounding box)

Vertical Boundaries

Define the upper and lower end of the shape

Relative To

The reference of the coordinates for start and end point; can be canvas or earlier defined axis

Start Point

The lower end of the chosen shape (for ellipse: the lower side of the bounding box)

End Point

The upper end of the chosen shape (for ellipse: the upper side end of the bounding box)

Lines

Width

The width of the line connecting the trace data points can be specified using the up- and down arrows for one-pixel increments, or enter the width directly in the text box, which allows fractional pixel values. Values smaller than 0.1 points are effectively invisible on pixel-based devices.

Color

The line color can be set using this popup menu.

Type

Continuous, dashed or dotted line types can be set using this popup menu.

Shape

Various shapes of the lines connecting the data points can be selected here.

Connect Gaps

  • Connect connects the two data points on either side of a data gap caused by missing or NaN (not a number) data.
  • Blank Missing values will break the line and appear as a gap.

Wdith

Continuous, dashed or dotted line types can be set using this popup menu.

Fill

Determines the looks of the inside of the shape

Color

(Has no effect when shape Line, only with oval and rectangle)

Choose the fill color with the standard color picker[link]

Opacity

Determines the opacity of the entire shape
